LPC’s Eurocup strategy
The EuroCup is a competition for Pétanque England registered clubs, with each club eligible to enter two mixed-gender teams each consisting of at least six players. The preliminary rounds are knock-out elimination matches with the previous year’s four finalists, including LPC Team 1, progressing straight to the semi-finals. The semi-finals consist of four groups of four teams with one progressing from each group to the final. The winning club in the final goes on to represent England in the European Championships against the winning clubs from around Europe. Runners-up in each semi-final heat go into the PE Trophy, the winner of which in 2024 will get a bye into the Semi-Finals in 2025, replacing the team finishing 4th in 2024’s final.
