London Pétanque Championship

The London Pétanque Championship is the club’s flagship annual event and for good reason, being the largest pétanque event in the UK. Attracting world champions and an average attendance of at least 15 different nations, this is a top-level petanque event. A celebration of pétanque, it is open to all whether as a competitor or a spectator.

New York vs London

This annual competition run by Simon Adamsdale (UK) and Ernesto Santos (US) is played in Bryant Park New York and Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens London on alternate years.

Friendship Games

The Friendship Games is an annual competition involving the LPC and two pétanque clubs from Europe, one from Regensburg, Germany and one from Bratislava, Slovakia.

In three successive years (in Germany, England and Slovakia) friendships have begun and have continued to grow. All it takes is a fun-filled weekend, people joined together in their enjoyment of good food, laughter and petanque.

Eurocup

The Eurocup is a competition for Pétanque England registered clubs, with each club eligible to enter two mixed-gender teams each consisting of at least six players. The preliminary rounds are knock-out elimination matches with the previous year’s four finalists progressing straight to the semi-finals. The semi-finals consist of four groups of four teams with one progressing in each group to the final. The winning club goes on to represent England in the European Championships against the winning clubs from around Europe.

Inter-Regional Championships

Held at the new venue of Pakefield Holiday Village, Lowestoft, the competition is for all regions of Pétanque England. Each region is represented by 8 teams in the main competition and 4 in the Challenge. Each team plays 12 games over two days and the winner is the region with the most overall wins. In 2021 London Region, made up largely by LPC members, won all competitions: the Championship, the Challenge, the National shooting competition and the President’s Cup!

London Cup

This annual event brings London-based clubs together to compete in a ‘round-robin’ style competition of triples, doubles, and singles. Each club competes to be crowned the winners of the London Cup.
